Yes, it is true they track contributions, and even that your comp package is built with your contrib in mind (even though UW specifically asks them not to). I know this from two points:
1) The first year I told the firm that I was donating through my spouse's employment (the truth). In year two, I was divorced, and contrib'd 1% of salary to UW. The OMP (small office) e-mailed me personally offering me his club seats at a hockey game. Uh-huh, they're not tracked.
2) My PIC told me that he was flat told his point allotment suffered his first year as partner because he did not contribute to UW at the recommended partner level. When he told them that he actually volunteered to the UW, he was told that his point buy in was adjusted to cover that donation, and since he wasn't donating, it would be adjusted down accordingly. Awesome. |
