For some reason a lot of the firm supplied laptops won't connect to WPA2 security protected wireless networks. If you ever get a message of "could not connect to network, could be out of range" or something to that effect for an AP that's well within range, this could be the problem. The fix is available from Microsoft, or just dl it here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/e/b/9eb62d0b-61f0-4c9e-9c52-e3bef96d9e7f/WindowsXP-KB893357-v2-x86-ENU.exe

Run, Install, Restart and you're good to go.
